International Women’s Day Opportunity

Do you know any Girl Guides or Guide Units with a story to tell?

This year for International Women’s Day, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is collecting stories of Girl Guides in rural communities around the world.

The project will explore what Guiding does for girls in isolated communities, and the positive impact that Girl Guides make in rural communities.

The photos, stories, and videos will be shared across the WAGGGS social media platforms.

If you know some Guides who would like to take part, here are the steps you’ll need to take:

  1. Ask the girl/girls to answer the list of questions in the International Women’s Day brief and get them to sign the WAGGGS Consent Form.
  2. Send a separate photo (JPEG) or video of the Guides in uniform, illustrating their rural community and the work they do.
  3. Email your contributions by Wednesday 21 February, 2018.

The photo or video doesn’t need to be new, but the girls do need to answer the questions.

We’d love to see some Girl Guides Victoria members included in this fantastic global project!
