What an incredible day we had at #GirlsRock2018! If you were in attendance you will have seen a big change in the format of the day. The “We’re for Girls” message from Nancy and Michel was sending us all back to the programming table to get more and more information from our girls to make their program more relevant. Our Lighthouse Statement of “When curious, clever girls are free to revel in all their possibilities, the world opens up” should have us wanting to be the one that that contributes to opening up that world for them.
On Sunday 4 February Region Managers, State Managers, and some Region representatives attended a Management Day at Yarraville Guide Hall. Information given to all nice and early in the year on Special Project Teams, Leader Appraisals, the role out of the Child Safe Trainings, and so much more.
Sunday was also a very special day for some of our own with awards presented in front of family, friends, and peers. Congratulations to our Asia Pacific Awardees Alma Brand, Ann Cook, Holly Bracken, Pam Schaffer, Michelle Sipple, and Deb Bland. Congratulations to you all and thank you for all you do.
A Red Kangaroo was presented to Robinette Emonson, a Grey Kangaroo to Lynne Emblin, and recognition of a Silver Kangaroo (presented last year) to Susan Campbell. Robinette, Lynne, and Susan work tirelessly for Guiding. Their commitment at State, National, and World level is now recognised. Congratulations!
We have said goodbye to our CEO Jennifer Fleming. Jen has had an enormous impact within our State and we thank her immensely for that. We now look forward to working with Amanda in the role of acting CEO and know that Amanda will continue in the same direction with the future of GGV front and centre.
The State Team sends ‘Thinking Day Greetings’ to you all and look forward to seeing some photos over the weekend from your various events.
