Registrations are still open for Guide Units to participate! Send an email to abcengagement@abc.net.au to ensure you don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity.
You might not associate stargazing and sunflowers, but there’s a great opportunity for Guides that involves both!
The ABC is holding a nation-wide world record attempt for stargazing on May 23, and it’s a fantastic activity for Guide Units doing their Sunflower Adventure! Learn more about the world record attempt and register your Guide Unit here.
The Sunflower Adventure is great way for girls to share Guiding with their friends and their community. Guide Units get out in their local area and do activities that matter to them to earn the rare Sunflower Badge (available this year only!). You can learn more about the Adventure and register your Unit here.
If you’d like to reach out to your local newspaper for some media coverage, you’re welcome to use this media release!
We will be sharing other ideas through the year for Guide Units taking part in the Sunflower Adventure, but the stargazing world record attempt is a particularly great way to encourage girls to follow their curiosity, get out in the community. It’s also an excellent way to encourage budding scientists and astronomers to reach for the stars!
