Is your Guide Unit looking for service ideas this August? Get them involved in August Action!
Every August, Guide Units around the state raise money for an organisation doing important work in the community. This year, Girl Guides will give back to the community by supporting Foodbank. This fantastic organisation provides food relief to 100,000 Victorians every month – and a quarter of the people they help are children.
In August Action, 50% of the money that each Guide Unit raises will support Foodbank and the important work it does in the community. The other 50% of funds raised is for each Unit to keep or donate as they see fit.
There are some great activities associated with August Action. Guide Units can discover Foodbank Victoria, and all the different ways to raise funds. They can also plan their fundraiser, and do some shopping and calculations at the Virtual Food Drive, and that’s just the beginning!
