Silver Kangaroo Awardees December 2018

Girl Guides Victoria is pleased to congratulate Margaret Devlin and Fiona Bennett on being awarded the Silver Kangaroo. Recipients of the Silver Kangaroo Award have demonstrated sustained service to World Guiding, as well as having an involvement at State and National level.

 

Margaret Devlin

Margaret’s life has always been lived within Guiding. Margaret is a past State Commissioner for Girl Guides Victoria, has been part of our GGV Executive Committee, and has sat on and chaired many sub-committees. Margaret is currently a member of, and is Vice-President of, the Olave Baden-Powell Society Board. Margaret has mentored many in their Guiding roles at every level within Victoria, Australia, and on an World level. Margaret’s commitment and professional approach in all she does makes her a very worthy recipient for this prestigious award.

 

 

 

 

 

Fiona Bennett

Fiona has been a member of Guiding on a State and World level for almost 30 years. Fiona’s passion began while she was a Girl Guide in England. Fiona is currently Independent Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee for WAGGGS, and is a member of the Olave Baden-Powell Society. Fiona is and has always been a mentor to many volunteers and staff in her various roles, and she shares her experience and knowledge at all levels whenever it is of assistance. The Silver Kangaroo recognises Fiona’s substantial commitment to Girl Guiding.
