State Team Report 22 March

Can you believe we are already heading to the end of the first term? Where has the time gone? This is the State Team’s first contact with you all this year; it has been such a busy start to the year and we have been visiting many events, Units, and presentations.

Congratulations and thank you to Amanda and all the staff involved in Girls Rock. This is always such a great way to kick off the year. Thanks also to all involved in the Australia Day Parade carrying the Consular Flags.

There have been a few very well deserved Awards presented, and we congratulate all of the recipients. How incredible to have two Silver Kangaroo Awards presented in Victoria on Thinking Day: congratulations to Margaret Devlin and Fiona Bennett. Both these ladies have put in years of service on many levels in Guiding, and are very worthy recipients of this award.

This year we have said goodbye to Sam Lockhart as a member of our State Team. Sam and her husband Mike are expecting their first child, so big excitement in the Lockhart household and a completely different focus for Sam right now.

We welcome to the team for 2019 Marise Liebelt as Assistant State Commissioner for 2019. Marise will be a great asset to the team and Star, Mandy, and Lynne look forward to working with Marise.

We will have a new Sunflower Badge for this last year of our term, so send us an invite to your meetings and events and get the Sunflower Badge to add to your collection!

Lynne, Star, Mandy, and Marise.
