Rogaining & Geocaching in Castlemaine 2019

Learn how to read a compass, understand symbols and gradients on a map, use a handheld GPS, and have heaps of fun in a non-competitive environment.

Rogaining is planning a course using a map and compass to find as many check-points as possible in a set time period. Explore the local flora as you walk to find as many check points as possible in the rogaining challenge course.

Geocaching is using a handheld GPS (Global Positioning System) to find small treasures hidden around a designated area. Working in small groups, you will use a handheld GPS to locate over 30 small geocaches.

Registrations close at 11.59 pm on Thursday 25 July.

When: Sunday 28 July
Where: Castlemaine Botanical Gardens
Who: Girl Guides aged 5+, and all adult members
Cost: $15 for youth; FREE for adults
