DID YOU KNOW? The Australian Women’s Cricket Team is currently ranked number one in the world!
Girl Guides Australia is pleased to announce that we will be supporting the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s and Men’s T20 World Cups hosted by Australia in 2020.
It is an exciting time for girls and young women, and there are bold ambitions for the Women’s T20 World Cup to be the biggest women’s sporting event ever held in Australia. The Women’s T20 World Cup aims to set new benchmarks and inspire change for generations to come by showcasing female talent and achievement.
On International Women’s Day 2020 (Sunday 8 March), the Melbourne Cricket Ground is hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup Final. This presents a chance for Australia to set a new world record for attendance at a women’s sporting fixture.
To ensure that any Girl Guides and their families who attend the Women’s Final on Sunday 8 March can sit together, Girl Guides Victoria will be purchasing and distributing tickets for this match.
Tickets will be for the alcohol-free seating area. Although match times are to be confirmed, the Final is advertised as an evening match. Girl Guides are encouraged to wear their uniform. All youth members must be accompanied by and remain in the care of a responsible adult.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $5 for children.
If you are interested in attending the Women’s T20 World Cup Final on Sunday 8 March and sitting with the Girl Guides, please express your interest by filling out this online form by 9.00 am on Monday 26 August.
Girl Guides Victoria will then purchase the tickets and sell them on to those who expressed their interest. If you fill out this form, you will be contacted after Monday 26 August and asked to provide payment for these tickets. Tickets will not be issued until payment has been made.
If you wish to attend another T20 match, either a Women’s or Men’s match, we encourage you to purchase your tickets individually online through the ICC and attend wearing your Guide uniform!
