JOTA/JOTI will be from 18-20 October 2019.
Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) is an annual event that occurs on the 3rd weekend in October each year. During this event up to 500,000 Scouts and Girl Guides from all over the world can make contact with each other by means of amateur radio or on the internet.
Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) is safely accessed through the Scout-operated Internet chat rooms such as ScoutLink as well as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, Skype, webpages and blogs, and even Minecraft. Girl Guides can access JOTI within their Unit or State activities or on an individual basis.
Your Girl Guides Victoria International Manager would love to hear about what Units, Districts, or Regions across the state are up to. Contact her via email to share your plans!
The Girl Guides Australia website has the updated details on:
- How Units can get involved
- The process to register
- Resources and activities
Groups participating in JOTA/JOTI are asked to register online, to ensure they get access to a number of extra features on the web, notably the JamPuz game, JOTI.tv, newsletters, and many more.
On the weekend, don’t forget to post about your experiences on the Girl Guides Victoria Facebook group.
The JOTA/JOTI badge for 2019 is available for purchase now from Victorian Guide Supplies.
