Thanks to a successful grant obtained from the Pride Events & Festivals Fund, all members and supporters of Girl Guides Victoria are invited to come along to a webinar hosted by champions for LGBTQIA+ youth Minus18 to inspire and empower our Guiding community through the experience of an LGBTQIA+ young person.
Girl Guides are an inclusive organisation and encourage all members to learn and understand how we can fully support our community. All age audiences are welcomed, but participation is at the parents’ or guardians’ discretion.
Join Minus18 presenter Tessa (she/her) for half an hour on Monday 1 March as she goes through:
- The experiences of LGBTQIA+ youth including barriers and challenges
- Statistics around bullying and discrimination facing LGBTQIA+ youth
- The importance of active allyship and practical tips for supporting LGBTQIA+ friends, colleagues and clients
- Minus18’s life-affirming work as a charity championing LGBTQIA+ youth
- Dedicated time for Q&A
