Clean Up Australia Day 2022! #StepUpToCleanUp

This year’s 2022 Clean Up Australia Day 2022 campaign is calling on us to Step Up To Clean Up our beautiful country.

You can get ready for #CleanUpAustraliaDay2022 by registering your groups or units’ Clean Up via the website here. Registering a Clean Up is a great way to inspire your local Girl Guides group to learn about the impact of rubbish on their local environment, while playing an active role in their community.

All registered Clean Ups will receive a free Clean Up Kit – including bags, gloves, and paperwork to help you on the day.

If you’re looking for a way to help the environment and do some service for your community, then Clean Up Australia Day is for you!

“Our environmental issues haven’t gone away because of COVID. In fact, they’ve escalated because of the mountain of rubbish that’s been created. That’s why we’re encouraging as many Aussies as we can to get involved on Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 6 March this year.”

As mentioned on the Cleanup.org website, ‘Everyone who registers to participate in Clean Up Australia Day activities can join in. One person per Clean Up event will be asked to input data.

You can log your collection tally online at the conclusion of your event, but you will need to know your Clean Up Australia site number* – this is required to verify your involvement and ensure statistical integrity for this project.’

By participating in the #StepUpToCleanUp campaign, we urge you to submit a photo of yourself with a written note, responding to the pledge of what you will do this year to Step Up To Clean Up!

You involvement in this year’s #StepUpToCleanUp campaign can earn your Girl Guides ‘Clean Up Australia Day 2022’ badge, which can be purchased HERE.
