M365 and Guiding in Victoria

A new digital ecosystem for GGV

At Girl Guides Victoria, we are committed to making sure that we have secure, user friendly and accessible digital systems and resources that best support our volunteers and Guiding families across Victoria.

As part of this commitment, we are transitioning all GGV staff, Executive and our adult volunteers (Leaders, Managers, and other specified roles) from Gmail to Microsoft 365 (M365) to create a new online digital ecosystem.

M365 is cloud-based (online) suite of tools offered by Microsoft to help improve productivity, collaboration, and secure file and document sharing and management across all levels of the organisation.

Moving to M365 means you will be able to use your GGV email account to access a customised SharePoint intranet page with key information and fast links to Guiding resources, M365 tools like Word and Excel, and all your Guiding files on any device.  This will make accessing your Guiding emails, files and information quicker and easier and help keep all your files securely in one place.

We’re currently working through the consultation and planning process to make sure the transition is as smooth and well supported as possible. Regional pilots are starting in April, so that we have user input from all levels of Guiding to inform system development and what resources are needed to best support the State-wide move to M365 being completed by the end of this year.

There will be plenty of information and clear how-to-guides to support you through the transition, and opportunities to ask questions and get the support you need to get you set up.

We will keep you updated by email and on Workplace as we progress the transition.
