Volunteer Committee Member –
Girl Guides Policy and Procedures Committee
About Us:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Policy and Procedures Committee at Girl Guides Victoria a leading organisation empowering young girls and women to reach their full potential. As a volunteer committee member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the policies and procedures that guide our organisation’s mission and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with committee members to review and update existing policies, procedures and guidelines
- Research industry best practices and make recommendations for improvements
- Attend regular committee meetings and actively contribute to discussions
- Provide input on policy development, ensuring alignment with Girl Guides’ values and goals
- Reports to the Executive Committee (Board)
Requirements:
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Attention to detail and ability to analyse complex information
- Prior experience in policy development or related field (preferred but not required)
- Prior experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents (preferred but not required)
Commitment:
- Attend monthly committee meetings (typically held in the evenings)
- Dedicate approximately 3 hours per month for committee work and related tasks
- Minimum commitment of 1 year, with the possibility of extension
