Welcome to GGV’s Queen’s Guide Information Session for August 2024!
What is the Queen’s Guide Award?
The Queen’s Guide Award is the peak achievement award for Youth Members of Girl Guides Australia.
The Queen’s Guide Award provides an opportunity for extraordinary personal development and greater self-awareness and is recognised in the education system in New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.
The Queen’s Guide Award has two parts:
- The challenges for the Gold Endeavour Award which focus on participating and learning.
- The additional challenges for the Queen’s Guide Award which focus on organising and leading.

What will this information session cover?
- An introduction to The Award Framework and the requirements of each section.
- Insights into the activities you/your Guide can complete for each section.
- How to register for the Queen’s Guide Award.
- Dedicated time for Q&A on the Queen’s Guide Award.
Who
Participants must be at least 13 years of age prior to starting their work on this Award, and have experience working on challenges to broaden their experiences. This includes experience in choosing, planning, doing and evaluating a personal challenge. Whilst you must be 13yrs old to register, it doesn’t mean you can’t begin exploring your options and getting exciting before that!
Whilst these sessions are primarily aimed at Girls aged 13+, we welcome Girls and their families of all ages to explore what the Queen’s Guide Award offers.
Leaders of 13+ youth are also encouraged to attend to be able to offer information to their unit and support any youth members who are interested.

When
6 sessions will be run throughout August, on different days and times, to best suit a variety of schedules.

Thursday 8th August – 8pm
Saturday 10th August – 3.30pm
Monday 12th August – 7.30pm
Wednesday 14th August – 8pm
Sunday 18th August – 10am
Tuesday 20th August 7.30pm
