Victorian Guides Land in London ahead of Essex Jamboree

Ten Guides and Leaders from Victoria have recently touched down in London ahead of their time at the Essex International Jamboree. Held from Saturday, 27 July to 3 August at Boyton Cross in Chelmsford, Jamboree is set to offer attendees a full week of fun activities, new experiences and global connections.

The Victorian contingent, made up of four Girl Guides, five Leaders, and one Olave, is currently staying at Pax Lodge, one of the five World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The Guides and Leaders tell us that they’ve all enjoyed their time in London, and with Jamboree only one day away, the fun and adventure is just getting started!

Come Saturday, they’ll join 10,000 Guides and Scouts from around the globe for an entire week filled with adventurous, creative, and cultural activities. And that’s just in the daytime! In the evenings, they’ll enjoy live music, a dance tent, tasty food outlets, and a cinema. All while meeting peers from different countries, building international friendships, and experiencing moments that will very likely stay with them forever.

We wish the Victorian contingent all the best on their UK/Jamboree journey. Stay tuned for more updates and stories from their travels!
