Summer Badge Challenge 2024 – Terms and Conditions 

 

Terms and Conditions
1. This competition is run by Girl Guides Victoria (the Girl Guides Association of Victoria) in the state of Victoria, Australia only. 
 
2. By entering this competition, you agree to accept these terms and conditions of entry. If your entry does not comply with these terms and conditions, it will not be valid and will not be accepted.
 
3. To be eligible to enter this competition, you must be a current paid youth of Girl Guides Victoria and you must live in Victoria. If you are aged under 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s consent to enter this competition. Girl Guides Victoria Staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. 
 
4. To enter the competition, you must submit a properly completed entry form via the Microsoft Forms and upload a design file using the provided upload link between 3pm Thursday 19 September 2024 and 11:59pm on Sunday 10 November 2024. Entries received outside this period will not be accepted. Only one entry per person may be submitted.  

5. All entries must be positioned within the square on the provided template, or in a square format that can be scaled for badge production. Entries can be hand drawn, painted or created digitally.

6. All entries must include the Girl Guides Trefoil. Girl Guides Victoria reserves the right to adjust the size, colour and position of the Trefoil on the winning design to meet brand guidelines.

7. Entrants are responsible for any and all expenses that they incur in entering the competition, e.g.: materials to create and/or photograph and format artwork competition.

8. By entering the competition, you give all rights to Girl Guides Victoria to utilise your entry on their social media channels and website for promotional purposes. The winning entrant agrees that Girl Guides Victoria is allowed to use their design for the creation of charity fundraiser badges free of charge. The entrant must warrant that they have all necessary rights to provide this intellectual property to Girl Guides Victoria and consent to any act or omission which would otherwise constitute an infringement of their intellectual property.

9. Girl Guides Victoria reserves the right to disqualify any entrants or entries where we reasonably suspect any unlawful or improper conduct, such as infringing on a third party’s intellectual property rights, or breach of the competition terms and conditions.

10. The winning designer will have their design realised and produced on a Girl Guides Victoria cloth swap badge which will launch in Summer 2024.  The winner will receive a cloth badge featuring their winning design.

11. Entries will be judged on the ability to communicate the theme of Summer; creativity and originality; and the ability of the design to translate well onto a small square cloth badge (less than 7cm x 7cm).

12. The decision of the judges is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into. The winning artist will be credited for their design on social media and our website using their first name, Unit and age (or a combination thereof).  Due to size restrictions, the winning artist will not be credited on the final product.
