Head of People and Culture
At Girl Guides Victoria (GGV), we believe in the incredible potential of every girl to make a positive impact. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head of People and Culture to join our Executive team. This key leadership role is all about shaping and nurturing our organisational culture, leading HR strategies, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. You’ll provide strategic and operational advice on complex people matters, focusing on building capability and delivering tailored solutions aligned with our priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape our culture to reflect GGV’s values and mission.
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support our overall strategy.
- Implement initiatives to support employees’ physical and mental well-being.
- Ensure HR practices comply with labour laws and manage HR-related risks.
- Drive change management processes to foster shared accountability across our workforce.
- Lead workforce planning and review to align with GGV’s objectives.
- Provide expert support in employee relations, performance, volunteer management, WHS, and workforce development.
- Manage outsourced payroll and other people service providers.
About You
You are a values-led leader with deep expertise in HR strategy, change, and workforce development, ideally within health, volunteer, community, or youth services. You bring:
- Extensive experience in a senior HR role.
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and industrial frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Expertise in complex workforce relations and dispute resolution.
- Practical experience with Employment Hero and Applicant tracking systems.
- High-level strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
What You’ll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related field.
- Australian HR Institute (AHRI) certification, such as the Certified Practitioner HR (CPHR) or Senior Certified Practitioner HR (SCPHR).

Girl Guides Victoria Executive Committee (Volunteer Positions)
Looking for a way to support girls and women? Interested in governance and strategy?
We are seeking nominations from passionate women to be part of the Girl Guides Victoria Executive Committee for a three-year term.
The Executive Committee is the governing body of Girl Guides Victoria and its role is to set the strategic direction, develop policy, approve the annual budget, and oversee the governance of Girl Guides Victoria. The Committee has a similar function to that of a Board of Directors and its members are responsible for the fulfillment of duties and responsibilities similar to those of a director.
The Executive Committee is specifically seeking nominations from people with the following skills and experience:
- Not-for-profit governance
- Human resource management
- Property law/development
- Policies / Procedures
- Technology/IT
- Child Safety
- Fundraising
