Lynne Emblin’s Life Membership has been awarded in recognition of her exceptional contribution to Girl Guides Victoria and her unwavering commitment to the Guiding movement. Presented at the State Council Meeting on 24 October, this prestigious honour celebrates a lifetime of leadership, service and dedication.
Life Membership Reflects a Lifetime of Service
Lynne started her journey as a 7-year-old Brownie. Moving to Melbourne, she joined the 3rd Northcote Guides with Guide Leader Sandra Bradshaw, where she earned her Queen’s Guide Award.
Lynne has held many senior positions, beginning as State Training Advisor, then Assistant State Commissioner, and finally State Commissioner. In 2016, Lynne and her team developed the Sunflower Challenge, Plant the Seed and GROW Guiding. She was recognised as the Indigo Shire Citizen of the Year and received the OAM in June 2015, recognising her service to Girl Guides and her community.
Throughout her Guiding journey, Lynne has inspired countless girls and adult volunteers through her encouragement, vision and commitment to helping others grow. Her leadership has helped shape programs, initiatives and opportunities that continue to benefit members across Victoria today. Whether serving in state leadership roles or supporting Guiding at a local level, Lynne consistently demonstrates the values of service, community and empowerment that are at the heart of Girl Guides. Lynne continues to give selflessly as a member. She is a strong communicator and clear thinker, and she always puts our movement first.
Congratulations and BRAVO!
