Girl Guides Make Waves at 2025 Water Days

The Guiding year has only just begun, but adventure is already in full swing! Over two days, over 180 Guides and Leaders from Victoria gathered at the Guide and Scout Water Activities Centre in Sandringham for our 2025 Water Days.

Dolphin Day set the scene on Saturday 1 March, bringing together our youngest Guides (ages 5-9)  for a full day of paddling, kayaking, sailing and beachside games.

Off the water, participants also learned about local marine life and conservation efforts.

The adventure continued on Sunday 2 March with OarSome Day, where Guides aged 10+ took their water skills to the next level.

They had a blast trying out sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, while enjoying the stunning surroundings. The fun and interactive activities didn’t stop there—on land, participants discovered how VEX IQ robots work.

There’s a reason our Water Days are a highlight of the Guiding calendar. Confidence is built in moments of challenge, connection, and discovery.
The moment a girl learns to balance on a paddleboard, codes a robot, or feels the wind lift her sail for the very first time, she’s unlocking new levels of confidence and discovering what she’s really made of.
