Girl Guides Recognised for Outstanding Contributions to Guiding


BRAVO to the Girl Guides members and supporters across Australia who have been recognised this month for their significant service to Girl Guiding and/or their local communities.

The following members and supporters were awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division:

  • Carol Peterson – NSW
  • Pamela Valentine – NSW
  • Amanda Young – QLD

We are also proud and excited to celebrate the Victorian Girl Guides, Volunteers and Members who were recognised in their local communities over recent weeks:

  • Julia Hastings, Horsham Night Owl Guides – Horsham Young Citizen of the Year
  • Denise Palmer, Dolphin Trefoil Guild – Mornington Peninsula Citizen of the Year
  • Janet Pilmore, Dimboola Girl Guides – Hindmarsh Shire Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Ian Rasmussen, Treasurer, Leongatha Girl Guides – South Gippsland Citizen of the Year
  • Pollyanna Smith, Bendigo Durt Guides – Greater Bendigo Young Citizen of the Year
