Guide Achievements celebrated at Government House

On 1 March 2025, the majestic grounds of Government House in Melbourne resonated with pride and accomplishment as we celebrated our newest Queen’s Guide and Olave Baden-Powell Award recipients alongside peak award recipients.

Peak Achievement: Queen’s Guide Awards

This year, we were thrilled to celebrate the achievements of 10 remarkable young women who earned the Queen’s Guide Award, the peak youth achievement award for Girl Guides in Australia. This very special award represents a culmination of years of focus, dedication and commitment to personal and community development.

Achieving this award demonstrates outstanding leadership skills, a deep sense of responsibility and a strong commitment to service. The journey to achieving the Queen’s Guide Award is unique for each recipient, encompassing various areas of development and experience such as community service, outdoor adventure, personal development, and leadership.

The 10 young leaders recognised this year have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact in their communities and exemplify what it means to be a Guide. Their journeys to achievement have been characterised by growth, discovery, and focused determination, with a healthy dose of fun, friendship and laughter along the way.

Peak Achievement: Olave Baden-Powell Awards

We were also proud and delighted to honour 2 exceptional young women who achieved the prestigious Olave-Baden Powell Award, the peak achievement for Olaves aged 18-29.

This special award recognises a strong commitment to self-development, service and personal challenge and honours the legacy of Lady Olave Baden-Powell who played a fundamental in the growth and development of the Girl Guiding movement.

The awards were presented to the Guides by the Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria, Professor James Angus AO.

A special thank you to Teah, who received her Queen’s Guide award last year, for representing Girl Guides as Master of Ceremonies.

Congratulations and BRAVO to all the awardees and thank you for your commitment to making the world a better place for girls and women.

We can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
