State Team Report 15 June 2018

Our wonderful State Team

We are always busy, but with lots of us out and about selling biscuits each weekend in May and June we are extra busy! It has been really exciting seeing the posts on Facebook about where the biscuits will and are being sold; plenty of opportunity and no reason for anyone to miss out on the biscuits fix. Happy selling!

Girl Led Workshops and Child Safe Training continue to be held in all Regions. If you are still one of the leaders who needs to attend Child Safe Training, check out your local dates and register soon.

A huge well done to Penny Ferris and her team for a super fun and informative Sydney Jamboree Contingent Camp. It was a great weekend for our girls to prepare for bigger things in Sydney in September.

National Volunteer week was celebrated recently, and we thank all our volunteers for the work that they put in to make Guiding successful and FUN for our members. Wouldn’t it be interesting to add up all the volunteering hours given to Guiding each week? I think it would add up to a very, very large number!

Registrations are still open for Snoozerella on 13 July, and we look forward to sharing the night with some very excited and probably tired and damp girls for that event.

Girl Guide Victoria and Girl Guides Australia both held their Annual General Meetings during May. It was a nice afternoon at the Yarraville Guide Hall. and a good chance to catch up with friends after the official meeting. Members had a chance to farewell Jane Pennington, as Jane was our AGM guest speaker. She told some very entertaining stories about her time spent at GGV. We will certainly miss Jane in the office and on the other end of the phone, but at the same time wish her well with her future.

It has been lovely to hear some of the stories from our Trefoil Guild members who had attended the Australian Trefoil Gathering in Tasmania. It sounds like lots of work and lots of fun.

Just one of our many visits saw Mandy have the pleasure of attending the Dolphin Red Hill Trefoil AGM. Mandy traveled to Horsham to share the afternoon and celebrate the 50-year Service Award presented to Marion Smith. Congratulations and BRAVO, Marion.
