SNOOZERELLA 2024 FAQ’S
It is a terrific opportunity for our younger Guides to meet Guides from other Units across Victoria, develop social skills, be supported in learning age appropriate independance, trying new things, and of course having a TwistED-ly fun time!
Once Guides have signed in, they will be given a warm welcome and orientation of the venue, so they know where meals will be had, the location of bathrooms and where they can find the different offerings for the evening.
The Exhibit floor, Astrodome and Meet the Animals fun will kick off first. Guides will have the option of moving between the different areas, so they’ll get to experience whatever they choose.
Dinner will run in two time slots, with two groups in each slot, alternating with a Slime Workshop session!
Guides will start settling down for the night in the upstairs area, setting up their sleeping bags, supported by each other and Leaders as required.
A light supper will also be on offer and maybe a fun science trivia!
Before going home, Guides will pack up their belongings, enjoy Breakfast and get ready to say goodbye to another year of Snoozerella fun!
Don’t forget your goodies as well!
5:15pm – Exhibit floor, Astrodome & ‘Meet the Aniamls’ opens!
7:00pm – Dinner will be run in 2 groups, alternating with the Slime workshop.
All times & offerings are still in the planning stage (March 2024) & activites & exhibits on the night are subject to operational availability & TwistED Science® reserve the right to change their offerings at any time.
Everything is extremely hands-on at TwistED and we have taken everything out of the box so you can really touch, move, build and play with all of our stations.
We have kept the reading to a minimum because TwistED is all about learning by playing, having fun, and doing!
Our no-instructions policy (yes, I know, we do have a few helpful hints around the place) keeps words to a minimum and brings down barriers so visitors of all cultures, abilities and backgrounds can be included. TwistED Science® is a place to experiment, explore, try things out and play!
The T&C’s will accompany that card, and the offer will be valid for 12 months, expiring June 2, 2025.
Make sure all your belongings are clearly labelled.
Don’t forget to bring your Health Form (emailed out no early than 48hrs prior to the event.)
If Guides do have electronic devices, Girl Guides Victoria recommends the following:
• When participating in activities, phones are put away
• Cameras are not used in tents
• Permission is always sought from others before photos are taken
• All posts are made with respect to our Guide Promise to “respect myself and others”
• Remember that all common social media platforms require participants to be 13 years of age.
Event photographers will be posting to #guidesvic and #snoozerella with the above guidelines in mind. Guides can also share photos so that we can follow all the fun! In light of today’s ubiquitous availability of cameras and social media choices, Girl Guides Victoria cannot monitor and are not liable for any photos youth share. If you have any questions regarding this, or if there are specific legal issues regarding custody or safety with respect to photos, please contact communications@guidesvic.org.au
