Casey District Guides fly high for charity

Up, up, up ...

Casey District Girl Guides flew high for their chosen charity Heart Kids VIC in the iconic Birdman Rally at Moomba Festival on 12 March.

Girl Guide Pilot Georgia and her superhero Guide crew put in a magnificent team effort to prepare for the high-profile annual event, from designing and building their aircraft from recycled and sustainable materials through to promotional activities to garner donations and support.

Cheered on by tens of thousands of spectators and a strong contingent of Girl Guides from across Victoria, Georgia bravely took the famous plunge off the Birdman Rally runway, launching through the air and into the mighty Yarra River.

Georgia and crew’s superb efforts raised over $2,100 in important funds for their chosen charity Heart Kids VIC, a not-for-profit organisation focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by childhood heart disease.
