Spring has Sprung… even though we are still having some cold and windy days and still frost in the North East! Hopefully the weather will be perfect when our many youth members and Leaders set off to attend Sydney Jamboree during the school holidays. How exciting for everyone as they set off on a bus trip and a camp experience that will create life long memories. While many are travelling to Sydney, some of our youngest members will enjoy part of their school holidays at Jamborella (State Camp for girls aged 5-9) at different campsites around Victoria. We hope everyone who is attending one of these events has plenty of fun, makes lots of friends, and comes home to tell all their friends about their camp experiences. Thank you to all the Leaders who are taking time to attend both Sydney Jamboree and Jamboree. Without you the girls would not be able to have this amazing opportunity.
During the past couple of weeks Mandy attended Jessica’s Queen’s Guide Award presentation in Wangaratta. Jessica is the youngest of three, and has followed in her sisters’ footsteps to earn this prestigious award. Mandy then travelled to Horsham for Region Revels for some fun STEM activities. She was delighted to be able to celebrate Marianne Gilbert’s 30-year service award, and Frances Casey’s 35-year service award. BRAVO to Jessica, Marianne, and Frances.
Sam has also been honoured to attend two awards ceremonies – Jemma from Nobel Park earned her Baden Powell Award, and Robbyn from Reservoir has earned to Queen’s Guide Award.
In late August four youth members attended a breakfast at Government Hose for the “Women and Health Breakfast” as part of the Governor’s Breakfast Series. Jordy, Elizabeth, Claire, and Zahara joined our CEO Amanda for an early morning start and had the opportunity to meet members of many other organisations and sporting groups at the breakfast.
