Friends of Sangam are groups of supporters found in countries around the world who care about the WAGGGS World Centre in India, Sangam and want to see it grow and thrive.
Friends of Sangam Australia (FOSA) participate in a number of activities:
- Raise awareness of what Sangam can offer
- Promote & encourage Girl Guides, Leaders, and members of the public to participate in events at Sangam
- Hold fundraising events such as film screenings, friendship weekends aware, Indian luncheons, and tours of Little India
- Raise funds through the sale of merchandise, for example badges at Guiding events
- Invite participants and volunteers returning from Sangam to join FOSA
- Provide support to Guide Units to run Indian nights including information about sari tying, rangoli, and mehendi
- Be available to advise those going to Sangam about India and what to expect
100% of funds raised go to supporting Sangam.
